The Temple show really turned out much better than I had expected. I feared that Hurricane Rita and fuel prices to reduce attendance but there were a lot of people and equipment at the show. (Pictures to follow)
Over 50 IH tractors were lined up and no telling how many engines were displayed. The club had 10 new members register and quite a few renewed their membership for '06.
Our general meeting went very well and after the meeting, we had hamburgers and ice cream prepared by a couple from Indiana, Kevin and Aimee Chapman. They had taken a F-20, fabricated a grill that resembled a steam engine, powered it with a LB engine, and mounted an ice cream churn on the drawbar. This was quite a machine to see. Special thanks goes to Gary Hudgens for inviting them down and providing the ingredients for the meal. When you see him, say thanks.
Next meeting of the chapter will be at Bob and KR's plow day, Oct 29th. A map will be provided in the next newsletter that will go out the week of the 17th. This is the meeting at which our directors are elected so attendance is very important.
Tractor games and units for plowing will be set up so we plan on a full and fun day. Hope to see all members there.
